Working directly with our clients, Britec’s Programmer Analyst II develops, maintains, modifies and troubleshoots custom applications. These applications are main-stream for our customers.  As a member of the development team you will focus on delivering and supporting CRM product customizations.

The Developer in this position is responsible for interpreting client needs, developing design goals, prototypes and chartering projects.  Drawing on a broad range of skills and experience, our Developer will find creative paths to practical solutions within time and schedule constraints.

Summary of essential job functions:

• Consult with clients regarding the development of CRM product customizations and enhancements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in VB .Net, ASP .Net, HTML, SQL, JavaScript

Under project-level direction from the Service Line Manager and the District Manager, the Network Analyst II will take initiative and ownership of projects by providing technical direction in the deployment and maintenance of networked systems.

• Conduct performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, space management, quality assurance and disaster recovery planning to ensure the systems are secure and reliable
• Develop and maintain supporting utilities and applications to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of systems
• Assist with the design of network and system plans, including implementation and maintenance
• Act as the Network Administrator, including use and maintenance of Novell, MS Windows, Citrix, WAN/LAN infrastructure, Internet access, e-mail, security, data integrity and virus protection maintenance
• Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems
• Provides technical support (hardware and software) and troubleshooting for clients and accounts

The Implementation Analyst III takes a technical leadership role in the implementation of new system installs, system upgrades and provides ongoing training and support to end users. As a product expert, the Implementation Analyst III maintains their knowledge of the product they support and several related and integrated products. Reporting to the Service Line Manager and the District Manager, the Implementation Analyst III will be in demand by clients requiring help with their accounting and financial systems. Flexibility is required as the position demands providing support and dealing with crisis calls that arise throughout the day while completing scheduled projects on time.

This challenging and dynamic career oriented position would suit a self-starter who enjoys a fast paced environment and a variety of responsibilities. This position requires the candidate to be able to lead projects and direct the efforts of more junior colleagues. This role will involve supporting, installing, and implementing accounting software systems and assisting with training end users within a wide array of client organizations.

The position would be of interest to Senior Accountants that have a good technical aptitude and are looking to apply and expand their skill and talent in a systems company.

Imagine a trade show for accountants. This was the scene that Britec Computer Systems Ltd. joined during the timeframe from September 21-25 at the Victoria Conference Centre and the Fairmont Empress Hotel.

The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia (CGA-BC) held their Victoria Conference this year and far exceeded their expectations of being one of the largest and most active events the CGA had ever held prior. And, Britec was right there in the midst of all of the action with accessibility to 17 speakers, 20 PD seminars, the AGM, an awards banquet and gala, a Friday fun night; plus they were in attendance at one of the largest British Columbia accounting tradeshows ever held.

The CGA-BC Conference has been held in Victoria four times since 2004. Attendance has risen every year and exceeded 26 percent during this period. It’s truly amazing the registration numbers for those that attended this year, but even more phenomenal is the growth of membership. The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia is the largest and fastest-growing accounting body in B.C. The provincial Accountants (Certified General) Act established the CGA-BC way back in 1951 and is the guiding principle that the organization follows when governing and training and certification of B.C.’s nearly 15,000 CGAs and CGA students.
